Position Title: Senior Marketing Strategist

An established, full-service advertising and marketing agency in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Senior Marketing Strategist to lead brand development, integrated marketing strategies, and go-to-market initiatives for a diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C clients. This role will drive strategic planning, analyze market trends and consumer insights, develop compelling creative briefs, and present data-driven recommendations that solve complex business challenges. Working closely with creative, media, and account teams, this individual will shape high-impact campaigns, strengthen client relationships, and support new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of marketing or advertising strategy experience, a strong background in client-facing leadership, and a proven ability to translate research and analytics into actionable business strategies. Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive brand, product marketing, and go-to-market strategies for B2B and B2C clients across multiple industries
• Lead strategic planning initiatives, ensuring marketing campaigns align with client business objectives, audience insights, and measurable KPIs
• Conduct market research, competitive analyses, customer behavior studies, and brand evaluations to identify opportunities for growth
• Create compelling strategic and creative briefs that translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable marketing solutions
• Present research findings, strategic recommendations, and campaign concepts to clients and key stakeholders with confidence and clarity
• Collaborate with creative, media, production, and account teams to develop integrated campaigns across digital, social, direct mail, and traditional channels
• Establish performance measurement frameworks, analyze campaign results, and recommend strategic optimizations based on data
• Support new business development through strategic pitches, client presentations, and innovative marketing recommendations
• Build trusted client relationships, proactively identify emerging opportunities, and provide strategic guidance beyond traditional advertising
• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship while managing multiple client initiatives, deadlines, and evolving priorities

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in marketing strategy, advertising strategy, or a closely related field, preferably within an agency environment
• 5+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated success driving strategic initiatives and influencing business decisions
• Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across multiple industries and client accounts
• Strong presentation and client-facing communication skills, with the ability to confidently deliver strategic recommendations and support business pitches
• Expertise in market research, competitive analysis, audience segmentation, brand positioning, and performance measurement
• Experience with Google Analytics, marketing analytics platforms, KPI development, and data-driven reporting
• Excellent writing and copywriting skills, with the ability to develop persuasive strategic briefs and thought-leadership content
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, UX principles, emerging marketing technologies, and multichannel campaigns
• Highly organized, proactive, and independent, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take full ownership of projects
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, or other regulated industries preferred
• Experience working with established or nationally recognized brands preferred
• Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA, Monday through Friday, with approximately 10-20% domestic travel
